The plot of Giandomenico Curi's film "Lambada"  (do not mix with the same name American one) is simple. An American guy visits Brazil, falls in love with Regina who occurred to be a girlfriend of a Brazilian hooligan and city threat Temistocles, an inimitable dancer of lambada. It`s not a thriller or action, sooner a romantic film full of songs and dances. Those above are also from it.

Fabuła filmu Giandomenico Curi "Lambada" (nie mieszaj z amerykańskim filmem 1990 roku o tej samej nazwie) jest prosta. Amerykanin odwiedza Brazylię, zakochuje się w Reginie, która okazała się dziewczyną brazylijskiego chuligana i miejskiego zagrożenia Temistoclesa, niepowtarzalnego tancerza lambady. To nie jest thriller ani akcja, prędzej romantyczny film, który jest pełen piosenek i tańców. Te powyżej również pochodzą z niego.

 

All of these songs are the pure dance songs, even the second, which may seem "political". After all, this is not the United States!
Wszystkie te piosenki to piosenki taneczne, nawet ta druga, która może wydawać się "polityczna". W końcu to nie są Stany Zjednoczone!

In the American version of this movie a fragment of a conversation between girls and a guy with a cocktail in his hand is cut out. He drinks "Água de Coco" and playfully "invites" everyone to drink this drink in order to come to terms with their life's problems. Either his words were considered an advertisement or this coconut drink was considered alcoholic. Both suggestions are wrong. Besides, when talking about dancing, he says that it happens that guys are excited and get horny. These are the precious details, but Fathers Perversius and Hardcorius can't bear and strongly oppose and forbid eroticism.

 

 

W amerykańskiej wersji tego filmu wycięty jest fragment rozmowy dziewczyn z facetem z koktajlem w dłoni. Pije "Água de Coco", bawi się w pełni  i żartobliwie zaprasza wszyscy pić  ten napój, aby pogodzić się z życiowymi problemami. Prawdopodobnie uznano to za reklamę, a ten napój kokosowy za alkohol. Obie sugestie są błędne.

Poza tym mówiąc o tańcach powiedział, że zdarza się, że faceci są napaleni, im stają. To cenne szczegóły, ale ojcowie Perversius i Hardcorius nie tolerują erotyki i zdecydowanie sprzeciwiają się i zabraniają ją!

`Tic, Tic, Tac` was a title song from the album "Fiesta De Boi Bumba" 1996 of the Banda Carrapicho  (ka-ra-pi-shu) group that acquired a great popularity in various countries of Europe and South America, Middle East, first of all in France. The album had a circulation of 1 millon of copies and had been awarded the Diamond Disk certificate.

 

`Tic, Tic Tac` był utworem głownym z albumu "Fiesta De Boi Bumba" 1996 grupy "Banda Carrapicho" (ka-ra-pi-szu), która zyskała dużą popularność w różnych krajach Europy i Ameryki Południowej, Bliskiego Wschodu, ale przede wszystkim we Francji. Album miał nakład 1 miliona egzemplarzy i otrzymał certyfikat "diamentowego krążka".

 

Carrapicho means "burdock"  in Portuguese oznacza "łopian, łopuch" po portugalsku

 

In 1996 the group led by Zezinho Corrêa came to France where a French TV channel TF1  filmed the Carrapicho`s first video clip sponsored by a French actor Patrick Bruel. It was him who arranged a tour of the Carrapicho group around Europe  after he had visited Brazil during "Le Jaguar" film's shooting.

 

 

W 1996 roku grupa, kierowana przez Zezinho Corrêę, udała się do Francji, gdzie francuska telewizja TF1 nakręciła jej pierwszy teledysk, sponsorowany przez francuskiego aktora Patricka Bruela. To on zaaranżował koncerty grupy "Carrapicho" w Europie po wizycie w Brazylii podczas kręcenia filmu "Jaguar" ("Le Jaguar").

Braulino de Lima

 

The author of the song was Braulino de Lima, the frontman of the Boi Garantido folk group who first performed it in a traditional style in 1993. The song included in the album of "Esse Rio È Minha Vida" sounded in a way not ready for its sale in the world entertainment market.

 

Autorem utworu był Braulino de Lima, frontman grupy folkowej Boi Garantido, który po raz pierwszy wykonał ją w tradycyjnym stylu w 1993 roku. Utwór zawarty na płycie "Esse Rio È Minha Vida" brzmiał w sposób nieprzygotowany na jego sprzedaż na światowym rynku rozrywki.

TIC TIC TAC means dum, DUM-DEE-DUM, and is pronounced like [cheek-cheeki-cheeki-tak] in Brazilian Portuguese.
*) "bull" of which is sung is related to the folk characters of Parintins's Festival, known as "boi Garantido" (the Obedient Bull) and "boi Caprichoso" (the Capricious Bull). 

 

**) "caboclos" are the native men/indians and the Amazon people on the whole

The "Carrapicho" returned to Brazil as the national heroes, although none had got any idea about their existence at home before their trip to Europe. But most important thing was that after that European tour they in Brazil had took more serious glance at  the Indian Amazonian music genre of "boi", it was no longer considered a  mérda e coco ("liquid coconut crap").

"Carrapicho" wrócili do Brazylii jako bohaterowie narodowi, choć przed wyjazdem do Europy nikt w Brazylii nie miał o nich żadnego pojęcia. Ale co najważniejsze, w Brazylii zaczęli poważnie przyglądać się indyjskiemu amazońskiemu gatunkowi muzycznemu "boi", więcej nie uważano go już za bzdury lub jak  mérda e coco (płynny stolec kokosowy).

 

To be honest, apart from "Tic Tac", no other songs from the "Carrapicho" repertoire had got the same success in the wide world. In Poland, however, they loved the song "Canto Envolvente", but people in the world did not understand this and, not knowing how to explain it, simply shrugged their shoulders.  Personally, I approve of the choice of the Polish, so to say, comrades. They are right, and I join them on this matter.

 

Szczerze mówiąc, poza Tic Tac, żadne inne utwory z repertuaru "Carrapicho" nie odniosły takiego sukcesu na szerokim świecie. W Polsce jednak też kochali piosenkę "Canto Envolvente", ale świat tego nie rozumiał i  z niedowierzaniem wzruszał ramionami. Ale osobiście aprobuję wybór polskich, by tak rzec, towarzyszy, bo mają rację i w tej sprawię dołączam do solidarności z nimi.

"Canto Envolvente" is a song about a guy who is going to declare his love to his girlfriend at the Bulls Festival. Seeing him dancing, spinning, she, of course, will appreciate him! Or not? In short, he is afraid, he feels Senti alegria de fato uma linda amônia no meu coração, or "joy and coldness in my heart"  (I felt joy and coldness in my heart!) at the same time. I would even specify that it is the "sweet chill"  uma linda amônia, and de fato literally means "actually" in Polish. The word expression of "uma linda amônia" is also a metaphor for morning emotional upheaval through "chilly morning air". 

 

"Canto Envolvente" to piosenka o facecie, który na "Festiwalu Byków" wyznaje miłość swojej dziewczynie. Widząc go tańczącego, kręcącego się, ona oczywiście go doceni! Albo nie? Krótko mówiąc, boi się, czuje jednocześnie Senti alegria de fato uma linda amônia no meu coração "radość i chłód w sercu" (czułam radość i chłód w sercu!). Określiłabym nawet "słodki chłód" uma linda amônia, gdzie de fato to dosłownie oznacza "właściwie" po polsku. Wyrażenie "uma linda amônia" to także metafora porannego wstrząsu emocjonalnego  poprzez "chłodne poranne powietrze".

The original authors of the famous melody associated now with a Brazilian dancing  style of lambada on the whole, the word of "lambada" means "hit", "schlager" in Portuguese, are brothers Ulises Hermosa and Gonzales Hermosa from the Bolivian  band of  Los Kjarkos. The original title of the song composed in 1981 was "Llorando se fue" (She left in tears).

 

Oryginalnymi autorami słynnej melodii kojarzonej obecnie z tanecznym stylem brazylijskim lambady (słowo "lambada" oznacza po portugalsku "hit", "schlager") to bracia Ulises Hermosa i Gonzales Hermosa z boliwijskiego zespołu Los Kjarkos. This music is for all who dreams of the liberal Sun and fathomless azure! It means so much for me too! I`m a chronic "patient" in this respect!

Ta muzyka jest dla wszystkich, którzy marzą o hojnym słońcu i niezgłębionym lazuru! Dla mnie też to wiele znaczy! Jestem pod tym względem chronicznym "pacjentem"!

 

LANGUAGE JĘZYK 

Brazil Portuguese: a lot of nasals, though sibilant consonants are
fewer than in European Portuguese, but there present a lot of closed vowels. In theory, it should sound rather shitty, but look, it sounds beautiful. Such a language is pleasant to speak, but the grammar is more complicated than that of Spanish. Spanish and Italian are phonetically almost pure Latin. That can't be said about French and Portuguese. I looked through the  texts in French of the 13th century, it is more Latin than French is today, it reminds of modern Romanian.

 

Brazylijski portugalski: dużo nosowych, choć sybilantów (syczących dźwięków) są mniej niż w europejskim portugalskim, ale występuje tam więcej samogłosek zamkniętych. Teoretycznie powinien brzmieć raczej gównianie, ale spójrzcie, brzmi pięknie. Taki język jest przyjemny, ale gramatyka będzie bardziej skomplikowana niż hiszpańska. Hiszpański i włoski są fonetycznie prawie czystą łaciną.  Tego nie można powiedzieć o francuskim i portugalskim.
Przejrzałem teksty w języku francuskim z XIII wieku, jest bardziej łaciński niż dzisiaj, przypomina współczesny rumuński.
